SAVING PRIVATE RYAN
(IL FAUT SAUVER LE SOLDAT RYAN)

by Steven Spielberg |

SYNOPSIS
June 6. 1944. D-Day. Nothing could have prepared the Omaha Beach soldiers to the battle they are about to experience. Driven by courage and hope, they ignore if they will make it to the other side of the beach that streches in front of them. As he watches the shoreline, Captain Miller thinks that this is the most dramatic confrontation that he and his men will have to face. But an barder task is still awaiting them. While the allied forces land on Omaha Beach, Miller has to lead his squad behind enemy lines for a particularly dangerous mission : find and bring back home alive and safe private James Ryan, whose three brothers have been killed on the battlefield within a few days. As the squad makes progress on the enemy territory, Miller's men wonder if it is worth risking the life of eight men to save one and why the life of this man should be more precious than theirs.
